 South Beach’s premier people-watching joint, The News caters to everyone in precisely the same way. Find your own table and no questions, please. Renowned for the models and modeling industry professionals who once graced the place, The News is now plagued by tourists and wannabes, while never losing its integrity for really mediocre food and nonchalant service. It’s expanded over the years, to accommodate rubber-neckers and the curious, and now occupies more than half a city block. The good news is that The News is still open---and the breakfast menu is available---24 hours a day. Best bet in terms of both reliable taste and value is a Mediterranean plate of hummus, baba ghanouj and tabbouleh that could feed a small family.
