Nick & Stef's Steakhouse Restaurant Review: Über-chef Joachim Splichal created this steakhouse in honor of his twin sons, Nick and Stef. Restaurant operations these days fall to Splichal's New York business partners, Restaurant Associates, who maintain this French version of the all-American steakhouse. In addition to a cowboy rib-eye, filet mignon and other beefy choices, the menu expands on the traditional steakhouse repertoire by offering assorted sauces that can be mixed and matched with any meat dish, as well as other main course options, including an entrée-size Caesar salad; seared yellowfin tuna; pan-seared Atlantic salmon; or a simple roasted chicken. Side dishes like sweet potato fries, jumbo asparagus and sautéed seasonal mushrooms round out any of the entrée offerings. Desserts are as all-American as they come, especially the cheesecake.
