Nicksons Eatery Restaurant Review

: Nicksons Eatery serves American Regional fare in downtown La Grange. Dishes range from Texas brisket tacos to a fried green tomato sandwich to a Colorado elk burger topped with white cheddar, a duck fat fried egg, garlic aïoli, lettuce and tomato. On Mondays, guests can order glasses and bottles of wine at half price.

Nicksons Eatery is the best restaurant in the suburbs!!

Nicksons Eatery has the best regional american food in the suburbs!

We took a trip to La Grange from Chicago with my family on a Saturday. The decor had a nice rustic charm. The waitress was cheerful and helpful. We ended up getting the Elk burger, Nicksons Salad, Scallops, Braised Beef Short Ribs and the kids got chicken fingers.

Elk Burger - Delicious!!! No game flavor - very savory. The sweet potato fries were great.

Nicksons Salad - Very fresh, loved the homemade dressing.

Scallops - They were huge and flavorful.

Braised Beef Short Ribs - Wow, the best I have ever had. We loved the quail egg on top - a nice touch.

Cookie in a Bowl - The dessert was delicious. Cookie was warm and the vanilla bean ice cream was velvety smooth.

As a family we enjoyed it. We like to share our dishes at the table and everyone agreed that it was all amazing.

The manager stopped by and was very nice and made sure everything was ok. I also seen the chef walk around.

Great place for families, couples, and anyone who wants a home cooked meal with regional American rustic flair done right. The best restaurant in downtown La Grange.
