THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED This part of 60th Street between Mad and Fifth is known as ladies who lunch territory, and British fashion designer Nicole Farhi made sure they have an ultrachic place to go. The restaurant is in the basement of her new department store, and it's a minimalist's dream in black, white and chrome. The food is very much in tune with the new British revolution (with Tuscan influences). Tastes are pure, but sometimes lacking in power, as in the bland marinated wild mushroom salad. The moist, herb-marinated salmon, however, is served with a delectable potato salad, and we love the caramelized plum tart with homemade almond ice cream. Solo diners have a good option with the communal table.
