THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Nikki's Restaurant Review:
Nikki's features spotty food, but makes up for inconsistent cuisine with a wonderful nightclub feeling and an outdoor patio that is downtown Minneapolis' best. When it's cold we go to Nikki's to sup on the deluxe mac and cheese, a multi-cheese concoction with roma tomatoes or one of the wafer-crust pizzas. Upstairs is a quieter dining room (which is also available for private affairs) but we like to stay downstairs and let our bohemian hair down for a night of cocktails and live jazz. In the summer we come to Nikki's early to scope out a seat under the jungle mural in the outdoor patio for a night of appetizers or desserts such as the vanilla resurrection, a blondie smothered in caramel sauce, ice cream and whipped cream. Unfortunately, entrées at Nikki's rarely satisfy, but stick to the small courses and you'll be fine. The service can be a little spotty, but with good company and a balmy evening you'll find yourself without a care.
