Nolen Kitchen Restaurant Review

: A chic, uncluttered interior and one of the city's best outdoor patio spaces are just two of Nolan Kitchen’s most appealing features. The menu, meanwhile, proposes a variety of American classics. Start with a house-made dip (we suggest the white bean and chives option); PEI mussels, rich with tomato, lemon and white wine; or “angry” shrimp, with garlic, Sriracha peppers and oil, with a glass of wine at Crescent bar. Consider as well the bacon-wrapped meatloaf, spinach pie or savory sandwiches, such as the souvlaki wrap. An extensive gluten-free menu is available for lunch and dinner, with many of the same items that are on the regular menu but accompanied by appropriate sides and embellishments. The dessert list and hours make it a suitable late-night, post-theater stop. Wine offerings present good values and plenty of quality by-the-glass choices. Half-off bottles of wine on Tuesday nights, and other specials that vary depending on the day of the week, lead to a packed bar area.

Disappointed in our visit to Nolen Kitchen tonight
by Diomedes56 on Tue Dec 29, 2015 7:15 pm

My wife and I went to Nolen Kitchen tonight. I had received a gift card from one of my students back in 2013. Unfortunately they could not honor the card since it was so old. The waitress said that the gift card company that issued the card went out of business two years ago and that they have no way of checking the balance on our card. I am sure from the restaurant's point of view, they cannot simply take my word that the card had fifty dollars on it. From my point of view, the family of the student who paid for the card got taken for fifty dollars and my wife and I left in less than a happy mood. I will pursue this with the Xenia Hospitality Group that sponsored the card but I suspect they will simply say that I should have used the card sooner.
