Nonna Tata Restaurant Review:

Nonna Tata is a tiny hideout of a café; the 21-seat restaurant keeps unusual hours and is easy to overlook in a block of bigger joints in the Fairmount District. Thanks to the guidance of owner-chef Donatella Trotti, a native of the lake country between Milan and Lugano, dishes coming from the petite kitchen may include pumpkin-porcini soup, lemon pasta with garlic and spinach, bresaola over arugula with Parmesan shavings, and asparagus gnocchi. Oh, the name of the place? Given for Trotti’s grandma (nonna), who was called Tata by her family. Bring your own wine, and be prepared to wait for a table.
