An Asian noodle shop isn't the most logical occupant for a semi-underground space huddled between Café du Monde and Jax Brewery in the French Quarter, but that doesn't mean it can't work. Inside, this modest emporium of noodles and teas---both retail and prepared---is all steam and stools, soba and udon, slurping and more slurping. The Vietnamese spring rolls and pho (beef noodle soup), the Chinese Nama soup (made with ramen noodles), and the Japanese gyoza dumplings are superior. Thailand is represented by pad thai, though not very well. Excellent bubble teas swimming with black tapioca pearls, and tapioca-less iced teas made from fresh fruit and herbs, round out the reasons that such an atypical business is flourishing along one of the French Quarter's most touristy strips.
