THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED North Beach Cafe Restaurant Review:

Born in Argentina to a Spanish mother and Genoa, Italy-born father, Ozzie Montano was playing semi-pro soccer and working as a busboy in a Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles when the 1971 earthquake hit. Moving to Las Vegas, he worked his way up from busboy to waiter at the Dunes, then got a job as Celebrity Showroom waiter when the MGM Grand (now Bally’s) opened. Nineteen years later, he and his Pennsylvania-born Italian-heritage wife Judy bought the North Beach Café, keeping the name because North Beach is an Italian district in San Francisco. The flavor of the City By the Bay is felt in the casual, Italian-bistro atmosphere. Try the empanadas filled with meat, hard boiled eggs, raisins and green olives---a favorite appetizer at lunch and dinner. The Montanos serve an Argentinean mixed grill of short ribs, flap meat, sausage and chicken breast. We love the linguine pescatore. Judy’s special is penne pasta with grilled chicken, mozzarella, spinach, broccoli and a touch of tomato sauce. Try signature dishes such as paella alla North Beach, lamb shank, veal chop and osso buco. A Sinatra sing-a-like entertains on Mondays, an Israeli-born, longtime Las Vegan romantically plays the violin on weekends..
