North Beach Restaurant Restaurant Review: Longtime chef-owner Bruno Orsi and co-owner Lorenzo Petroni, known by friends as the Mayor of North Beach, present some of the most delicious northern Italian food in the city. Enjoy authentic hearty pastas, chicken cooked under a brick, a wide array of meat dishes, and wonderful house-cured prosciutto. Dine on the main floor surrounded by handsome wood wainscoting or downstairs in the private dining areas. The basement has a small prosciutto curing room with hams hanging overhead. Petroni offers his own award-winning wines as well as a hand-picked selection of excellent Italian and California vintages. Tuxedoed waiters set the tone for the movers-and-shakers who haunt this popular place, including politicians, professional athletes and movies stars. |
