North Fattoria Italiana Restaurant Review

: Farm-fresh ingredients prepared Italian-style is the focus at the reincarnated North (“fattoria” translates as “farm” in Italian). Crispy arancini antipasto is a sure winner, with gooey, smoky scamorza that oozes through the hearty red sauce. The chef’s salumi choices are sliced before your eyes. Any of the house-made pastas will please, either as primi or as a main dish. Secondi choices include seared diver scallops with Italian lentils, broccoli with romesco sauce or braised short ribs with white polenta and roasted root vegetables. And the desserts? Let’s just say you’ve never had affogato quite like the one served here. And while much of the menu has changed, North still serves thin-crust pizzas with toppings such as potato, guanciale, egg, garlic confit and basil --- and that’s just on one pie. The wine list is both compact and diverse, and the cocktails are quirky.
