Enter through a gate past a kiosk into a warm, Japanese-style room decorated with the works of artist Mayumi Oda. In this peaceful world, tea is the drink of choice, and it is offered in so many varieties that guests may need help in matching a tea to the artfully presented East-West starters. Any of the meals in a bowl (all made with fresh California ingredients) are worth consideration, including udon or soba noodles in a flavorful broth with a choice of salmon, pork tenderloin or smoked trout.
