THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Oak City Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:

No place on the Peninsula epitomized the celebrity chef craze of the early '90s like Joey Altman's Wild Hare. While his wild-game fusion cuisine ultimately failed to be the right match for suburban Menlo Park, Oak City Bar & Grill manages to strike the perfect balance of comfort food and high-end cuisine in the same gloriously beautiful building. The restaurant, highlighted architecturally by its two-story open ceiling and tall windows that look out to busy El Camino Real, features a menu that will appeal to everyone in the family. The kids will enjoy the personal-sized pizzas, even if they include such California cuisine flourishes as goat cheese and white truffle oil, and the white cheddar cheeseburger, made from Niman Ranch beef. Parents and other adults will eat up the crispy duck leg confit, served in a sauce of fig-balsamic-and-port-wine reduction, and the shellfish curry dish with prawns, bay scallops and mussel. Kids of all ages will like the tremendous mac 'n' cheese, which tastes like a fine fondue mix of cheddar, Swiss and Parmesan. The dessert list is highlighted by the lush caramel heath bar crunch sundae and the Tahitian vanilla bean crème brûlée.
