The Oak Grill Restaurant Review: The Oak Grill's outdoor setting affords good views of the golf course and well-manicured grounds with its ancient oaks. You’ll likely be surrounded by affluent guests or the parents of kids enrolled at one of five area boarding schools. On weekends, a breakfast buffet features organic eggs and house-made granola. The lunch menu offers a daily soup and fresh salads made with local vegetables; indeed, many of the chef’s herbs and vegetables are grown onsite. One main course salad features curried chicken, hearts of palm and crispy chickpeas. Also, there’s a burger, a grilled steak sandwich and a club sandwich. Entrées include pan-seared Scottish salmon with spinach, tomatoes and a mustard-herb sauce. If it’s summertime, end with strawberry shortcake made with ripe berries from Oxnard. In winter, try the orange panna cotta crafted with Ojai citrus. Despite the relatively casual setting, the wine list is quite long. Cocktails are also available.
