The Oak Restaurant Review: The Oak's outdoor setting affords good views of the golf course and well-manicured grounds with its ancient oaks. You’ll likely be surrounded by affluent guests or the parents of kids enrolled at one of five area boarding schools. On Saturdays, a breakfast buffet features fresh fruit and made-to-order omelets. The lunch menu offers salads created with local vegetables; indeed, many of the chef’s herbs and vegetables are grown onsite. Also, there’s a burger and an Ojai club sandwich. Entrées for lunch and dinner include Pacific king salmon with wild rice. If it’s summertime, end with organic strawberries and raspberries with a Moscato sabayon. In winter, try the orange panna cotta crafted with Ojai citrus. Despite the relatively casual setting, the wine list is quite long. Cocktails are also available.
