| A fixture in this comfortable neighborhood, Oak Grove Market combines a meat market with a casual breakfast and lunch spot. Upholstered seating half-rings a collection of Formica-topped tables and plastic-covered chairs---it's totally retro-50s in feel, yet very today. Croissants are a breakfast hit. While we find the prime rib sandwich dry and not especially tasty, we do recommend the salads---especially broccoli and apple Waldorf and broccoli-mango---the very good Brunswick stew and the fair barbecue (although the sauce is already mixed in, a purist’s turn-off). Niman Ranch beef is included in the meat market line-up, and it also has specialty items such as locally made barbecue sauces and marinades.
