Oakville Steakhouse Restaurant Review:
About the décor: Set in the former home of Biscayne Steak, Sea & Wine, Oakville Steakhouse has an entryway that displays a wine wall showcasing more than 150 bottles, and among the dining room’s contemporary design elements are artwork and photographs of the renowned wineries in the surrounding areas of Oakville.
Likes: Besides the traditional steak cuts, choose from Kurobuta pork chop, elk rib-eye and buffalo tenderloin.
Dislikes: None.
Food & Drinks: A unique starter is a taco with the shell made of eggplant, filled with goat cheese, roasted tomato poblano jam and shredded lamb. On the menu are a wide variety of steak cuts such as Texas Wagyu, porterhouse, bone-in rib-eye, NY strip and filet mignon, which come with orange peel béarnaise, chimichurri or house-made steak sauce. Other options range from pan-roasted sea bass with cauliflower almond purée to smoked duck breast with blood orange gastrique, and root beer-brined chicken served with polenta, charred Brussels sprouts and white BBQ sauce. Save room for the deconstructed banana cream pie, a concoction of banana pudding, nilla wafer crumbs and chocolate sauce. Complementing the fare are wines mainly from Napa, including a 2014 Far Niente Chardonnay and 2013 Swanson Vineyards Merlot.
