Ocean Boulevard Bistro & Martini Bar Restaurant Review: Step through the door of Ocean Boulevard to a dining experience more apt to be found in a vibrant metropolitan area. The interior features a poured concrete bar, low lighting, and semi-open kitchen fronted by several highly sought after seats. Seasonal ingredients as well as fresh seafood and meats are the backbone of a succinct yet well planned menu. Starters include a North Carolina oyster pan stew, pepper seared rare tuna sashimi with poke, grilled shrimp or a hot-from-the-oven cast-iron skillet that may hold treats like mozzarella, salami and roasted garlic with a side of crostini. Salads are always fresh and crisp --- try the ever-changing bistro salad. Entrées shine with pan-roasted duck breast with seared polenta cake and foie gras custard brulée, a milk-braised pork shoulder with crispy house-made ricotta dumplings, jumbo lump crab cakes or Harris Ranch beef, all served with seasonal accompaniments. For dessert, don't miss an OB classic: macadamia nut torte with caramel ice cream. A small-plates menu borrows a bit from the full menu but with additions like OB Mac & Cheese, steamed edamame or a bistro cheese plate for diners who choose to remain at the bar or outside on the patio enjoying live acoustic music while sampling from the inventive martini menu.
