Oda House Restaurant Review

: The chef at Oda House, one of the few Georgian restaurants in Manhattan, was once a plastic surgeon. She’s not necessarily applying her surgical skills in the kitchen, but that’s fine because what she sends out is very good. Georgian fare, one of the most underrated cuisines on the planet, is meaty and, at times, sophisticated. The kebab --- choose between pork and beef or lamb --- presents like an all-meat burrito, wrapped in a thin bread and intermingled with cranberries and herbs. It’s worth trying. Grilled liver spiked with pomegranate seeds, the house special, might impress even the most finicky eater. Of course, a visit to any Georgian restaurant isn’t complete without an order of khinkali, reminiscent of Chinese soup dumplings only three times the size. Oda’s version (also available in pork and beef or lamb) is juicy and addictive. Wash it all down with a bottle of Georgian wine that’s priced to drink.
