Odeum Restaurant Review:
Odeum takes its name from the Greek word for gathering place for the arts. Chef Salvatori Calisi (Dio Deka) spent his summers as a teen working in resorts on Elba and Sardinia, which ingrained a love of seafood and intense flavors --- try the charred octopus or prawns stuffed with feta and rock shrimp on Parmesan and roasted garlic risotto. Massive gyros are filled with either chicken and bacon or Calisi’s signature combo of lamb, pork and beef, both tastily packed with garlic herb fries. Eggplant carbonara is a must, topped with a pan-fried egg and baked in the wood-fired oven. Try the Quintet of five artisan dips (ricotta with pistachios and honey is a standout). Always consider the daily special, too.
