The Ojai Beverage Company Restaurant Review:

The Ojai Beverage Company was a fine place even before a café was added. One could find more than a thousand wines and nearly that many beers, a shimmering collection of top-shelf spirits presided over by a knowledgeable staff. Then proprietors Joby Yobe and Jorge Alem raised the bar. They hired chef Jerret Gilden, who put together a simple menu designed for pairing with beer and wine, which kicked up the already formidable appeal of the place. Succumb to temptation as you walk the main store’s glorious aisles of booze; bottles may be purchased at retail price and opened in the café. A revolving selection of tap beer provides an opportunity to taste a dozen varieties. You may encounter a Blanche de Bruxelles Belgian white ale or Cucapa Obscura American brown ale. Wash down Baja-style fish tacos with locally brewed Pink Moment ale. A heartier, hoppier Speakeasy Double Daddy IPA pairs well with a tri-tip panino decked out with crimini mushrooms and melted Brie. Salads and flatbreads are a lighter touch. For dessert, try the crème “brewlee,” made with a different beer every week.
