Omar's Carriage House Restaurant Review: Owned and run by Omar Boukhriss, this former carriage house is a historic building site in Norfolk. The cozy restaurant has cheerful slipcovered chairs, multi-patterned serviettes and fresh flowers on every table. Menu-wise, while the specials change with the seasons some retain Moroccan accents. For dinner, we recommend paella, braised lamb shank or potato-encrusted flounder. On Monday nights look for the Moroccan menu (in addition to the regular fare) that features tagines, kebabs and, for dessert, keneffa (crispy pastry layered with sweet almond cream). Ongoing wine dinners are a special delight. The fried green tomatoes Benedict is a brunch winner, but the bananas Foster waffle and brioche-based chocolate french toast offer competition. Service is friendly and attentive.
