| A novelty German dining concept brought to select U.S. cities (upshots include anonymity for celebs), this pitch-black adventure is less about cuisine and more about touch-and-taste sensory overload: if anything the experience makes for a great story. Prix-fixe menus are preselected (salads and other appetizers, chicken, fish or vegetarian mains), and guests are carefully led to their tables for dining in absolute darkness. Wine and cocktails help to relax the experience that heightens sound, smell and taste to an often edgy degree. Legally blind servers act as gentle, capable guides through lengthy courses of fumbling and fun. Not recommended for solo diners, anyone in white clothing or those afraid of the dark. |
