After achieving rapid success with their flagship locale in Costa Mesa, Nekter Juice Bar is opening a second location in Corona Del Mar March 1. Like the popular original venue, the new location will be featuring a host of healthy organic treats, including green juice blends; raw nut milk smoothies; and raw, gluten-free vegan snacks. The new Nekter Juice Bar will be open from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Nekter Juice Bar, 2801 E. Pacific Coast Hwy Ste. Laguna Beach native and celebrity Casey Reinhardt returned to her hometown to launch Casey's Cupcakes February 14. The former star of MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, Reinhardt is sharing the same flavors that made her original location in Riverside's famed Mission Inn a success. Highlights include customer favorites such as rockin' red velvet, sassy strawberry and decadent dark chocolate, and she will also be offering her signature "cupcake wedding cake" creations for upcoming nuptials. The District in Tustin is adding another restaurant to their extensive list of dining venues with the debut of Pablo's Cantina. The restaurant, located in the space formerly occupied by Bistro West, and launched by the owners of the adjacent eatery The Auld Dubliner, is poised to unveil a dining concept that is being referred to as a "Mexican pub." John Cuevas has joined the crow bar & kitchen in Corona Del Mar as executive chef. The James Beard-nominated Cuevas, who most recently helmed the kitchen at Muse at the Montage Beverly Hills, returns to his Orange County roots to add his own spin on the restaurant's gastropub fare. Some of Cuevas' new menu creations include the organic risotto with cured pepperoni, Havarti cheese, and garden oregano; crispy pork belly with stewed cannellini beans; and a chicken paillard served with organic tomatoes, kalamata olives and roasted garlic. the crow bar & kitchen, 2325 E. Ryan Wilson has taken over the kitchen at Corona Del Mar's Five Crowns as executive chef. The great-grandson of the legendary restaurant's founder Richard Frank, Wilson is replacing longtime executive chef Dennis Brask, who has retired after 26 years in the kitchen. The transition comes at the cusp of Five Crowns' extensive venue and menu renovation, which will close the restaurant down for a few weeks beginning March 21. Five Crowns, 3801 E. Sean Nemetz has returned to The Cellar in Fullerton to take on the role of executive chef. Nemetz had previously served as the restaurant's sous chef from 2004 to 2009, before departing to launch his own catering company in Los Angeles. The 30-year-old Nemetz is eager to utilize the impressive skills and creativity that garnered him acclaim in his former position. The Cellar, Villa del Sol Shopping Center, 305 N. California Pizza Kitchen ASAP, located in the semi-detached wing of South Coast Plaza formerly known as Crystal Court, has closed its doors. This was a stand-alone closure, as the venue's voicemail encouraged patrons to enjoy their other current locations after its final day of business.
