El Cholo has opened their latest location in Anaheim Hills. This mini-chain of Mexican restaurants was started in Los Angeles in the 1920s by the Borquez family. Bruxie is opening their fifth location in April 2013. The growing chain will bring their sweet and savory waffle sandwiches to Huntington Beach. Orange County restaurateur David Wilhelm is re-entering the market after a brief sojourn in the San Diego area with the launching of Jimmy's Famous American Tavern. The eatery, which has a sister location in San Diego, is slated to open in Dana Point this summer. It will feature a relaxed, contemporary spin on the traditional communal tavern motif, providing the background for its menu of American regional classics augmented with contemporary touches. Enoteca Lounge Unveiled at Antonello Ristorante
Antonello Ristorante, the legendary Italian eatery located across the way from South Coast Plaza, has unveiled a new wine and tapas lounge within its newly renovated space. Dubbed Enoteca Lounge, the space features a unique menu of Northern Italian small plates, as well as an extensive list of wines by the glass. It also offers occasional wine-centric events. Brunch at Broadway by Amar Santana
Broadway by Amar Santana now offers a prix-fixe brunch on the weekends. The downtown Laguna Beach restaurant serves up three courses of chef/owner Amar Santana's innovative takes on contemporary breakfast and lunch dishes. Select items include a Caesar kale salad with oven-dried tomatoes and pumpernickel; huevos rancheros with crispy corn tortilla, bean purée, avocado, and cotija cheese; and flat iron steak with fried organic egg, béarnaise, and fries. Tequila Thursdays at SOL Cocina
SOL Cocina in Newport Beach hosts Tequila Thursdays from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.; a program dedicated to showcase the complexities of the agave-based libation, as well as the many diverse interpretations of the beverage that have been crafted. Guests that arrive at the waterfront eatery can indulge in a complimentary tasting of the evening's featured tequilas, and then enjoy subsequent tastings of the tequila at half the normal price, while enjoying the venue's view of the Newport Harbor marina. Chef Shuffle

Greg Moro, the former executive chef of the defunct Laguna Beach restaurant French 75, has been brought on board at Nieuport 17 to be their chef de cuisine. The addition of Moro marks an evolutionary step for the longtime Tustin restaurant, which is transitioning from a classic continental menu to one that showcases more contemporary fare. Alfonso Ramirez has been announced as the new chef at Pinot Provence. The second-generation chef comes to the Costa Mesa eatery from Los Angeles, where he worked alongside such celebrated chefs as Eric Greenspan at The Foundry on Melrose and Lee Hefter at Spago Beverly Hills. Ramirez is poised to present a menu filled with traditional French cuisine made with a modern twist, such as house-made charcuterie featuring chicken terrine and fried rillette. Mr. Stox has closed its doors. The restaurant, which had been serving classic Continental cuisine in a traditional fine dining setting since 1968, had its last dinner service March 15. Katsuya by Starck Laguna Beach has closed its doors. The restaurant, which opened in downtown Laguna Beach in the summer of 2011, stated that they are actively pursuing a new location in Orange County to serve up their sushi and Japanese cuisine.
