Holsteins Shakes and Buns is officially open in Costa Mesa. The restaurant is located in South Coast Plaza in the space previously occupied by Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s South Coast Plaza. Its original outpost is in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Like at its initial locale, guests can expect to encounter a list of gourmet burgers, kicked-up bar bites, and alcohol-infused milkshakes. NFL Sundays at EATS Kitchen & Drink
Red Bar and Lounge, the Hotel Irvine watering hole adjacent to flagship restaurant EATS Kitchen & Bar, is hosting NFL Sunday --- a sophisticated take on the time-honored ritual of watching Sunday football. Starting at 10 a.m., guests can settle into the bar’s lounge-like seating and check out five games at once on the venue’s 10-foot, nine-panel split screen. Patrons will also have the opportunity to enjoy a special gameday menu created by EATS executive chef, Jason Montelibano, which features bites like the pulled pork and a french fry-stuffed California breakfast burrito. Chowder for a Cause Campaign at Fly-N-Fish Oyster Bar & Grill
Fly-N-Fish Oyster Bar & Grill in Newport Beach is celebrating National Seafood Month by hosting a “Chowder for a Cause” campaign. From October 1-31, proceeds from each bowl of clam chowder sold at the Balboa Peninsula restaurant will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Fly-N-Fish Oyster Bar & Grill, 2304 W. Lillie's Q Introduces Sunday Brunch
Sunday brunch is now available at Lillie’s Q. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., the popular downtown Brea restaurant hosts a buffet brunch featuring Southern-style barbecue, traditional Southern sides and mini-desserts, which can be paired with bubbly or Mimosas. The restaurant will also feature a short-order kitchen menu featuring an array of signature plates such as chicken and waffles and Southern eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes and housemade biscuits. Chef Shuffle

Selanne Steak Tavern has announced that Stephanie Driggs has taken over the reins as pastry chef. Driggs brings more than a decade’s worth of local professional experience to the Laguna Beach restaurant, including an extensive stint as pastry sous chef at The St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point. The Lake Forest location of Slater’s 50/50 has closed. A difficult locale was cited as the reason for the shuttering. The restaurant, which opened in 2013, served up its last orders on September 7, 2015. The Slater’s 50/50 locations in Anaheim Hills and Huntington Beach are still open for business. Z’Tejas in South Coast Plaza has closinged. The modest chain restaurant, which was known for its approachable take on Southwestern cuisine, served its last lunch and dinner on August 29, 2015.
