Orchard Market & Cafe Restaurant Review: When this Persian restaurant changed hands, we fretted. After years of enjoying its duck fesenjune cooked in a piquant pomegranate-walnut sauce and its dried plum lamb with butternut squash, we feared a great love lost. Happily, the owners quickly found their stride, bringing a pleasing home-style quality and the occasional innovation to this welcoming, fountain-laden dining room. Chicken Abadan, topped with shrimp and scallops, comes with a zesty herb sauce. And barg, butterflied filet mignon seasoned with sumac, is only one of many authentic grilled dishes. Owner Jason Bulkeley is the most gracious and good-humored of hosts. Call for directions, as the BYOB restaurant is not visible from the main drag.
