| A vaulted muraled ceiling, pink marble tabletops, gilded frescoes, wood paneling, brass accents and an original Rookwood fountain featuring two large sea horses on either side create an elegant, historic feel. Potted plants and booths provide a sense of privacy. Service is professional and the food presentation is dramatic. Start with the Maine lobster salad with organic fried egg, parsley and caviar cream. Among entrées, we recommend the Kobe beef rib-eye with périgourdine sauce, candied cipollini onions, Yorkshire pudding and potato galette as well as the line-caught wild halibut with Dungeness crab, sunchoke purée, tarragon and haricots verts. For dessert, the chocolate soufflé is nested in a chocolate tart crust, and served with an iced lemon confection. |
