This Italian eatery located in the West Village focuses, as the name would suggest, on dishes using organic ingredients. The menu is made up of sliced meats and cheese, creative and classic bruschetta, salads, pizza and pasta dishes. For heartier meat dishes, there are nightly specials like hanger steak and salmon. The space feels cramped (thanks to a long bar) and service is friendly but slow in that oh-so-authentically-Italian way. The offerings from the kitchen won’t knock your socks off: the ingredients on the pizza were refreshingly bold, but the dough was stiff and flavorless; the faro spaghetti carbonara was just plain bland---not even pancetta could save it. The small wine list sticks mostly to Italy and has options for every price level.
