Fine dining spots may come and go, but Lee’s Hamburgers are apparently forever. For this suburban burger purveyor, the term "cheesy" describes the décor more fittingly than it does the burgers. Those who remember the original, legendary Lee's in the New Orleans Central Business District will find three heirs to the fare. Lee's present-day fans would hardly let a week go by without stopping in for a fix. The beef is still ground daily at all Lee's locations, and the slow-fried patties are still embedded with chopped onions that caramelize as the meat cooks. This owner, Ed Perkins, also has two other locations, all distinguished by the word “original” in the signs: 3516 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, 504-885-4291; 70380 Hwy. 21, Covington, 985-892-2300.
