Osteria Pronto Restaurant Review: On the first floor of Indianapolis’ tallest hotel, Osteria Pronto affords diners a pleasant respite from the hustle and bustle of conventioneers and hotel traffic. The open kitchen, inviting brown and gold tones and efficient service provide the backdrop for Italian fare. Try the pan-seared halibut with squash risotto and sautéed spinach, or a combo of lamb chops and lamb sausage with a rosemary reduction and sautéed potatoes so crisp and tasty, one wonders if someone’s Italian grandmother is in the kitchen. A starter of mussels in sambuca broth, sprinkled with chopped fennel, sets the mood for more to come, be it a half order of pasta, osso buco or a margherita pizza. A sampling of three gelato flavors is a fun way to end the meal. The wine selection is heavy on Italian imports; half carafes are also available, paving the way for a different pairing for each course. |
