THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED P.S. Italian Grill Restaurant Review

: When Piero Selvaggio of Valentino does an Italian restaurant, he does it right. This charming companion adjacent to the entrance of the ultra-swank Valentino is designed in a casual, chic Mediterranean style, complete with a wine bar, tiny bar tables huddled up against a divider, and a spacious but understated 120-seat dining area done in breezy earth tones. What makes this place special is its accessibility. Not only are prices modest, the restaurant offers the opportunity to taste great wines in two-ounce sizes, allowing a novice to expand his enological horizons without pinching his wallet. Among appetizers are the savory grilled pizza and garlicky bruschetta topped with fresh tomato. Main dishes run from the familiar, a multi-layered lasagna alla bolognese, to the rustic, swordfish steak with a Sicilian-style sauce, and even to the luxurious, a terrific veal osso buco with saffron risotto. For dessert, don't miss the baked cream called panna cotta with blood orange sauce or the mascarpone caramel mousse with brandied cherries, and finish with a glass of Vin Santo, the rust-colored Italian dessert wine.
