THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pacific Edge Restaurant Review:
Overlooking the bustling Redondo Beach Pier, this restaurant's row of windows offers views of crashing waves, lush sunsets, and even the occasional break-dancer. Owner Lili Miura, originally from Tokyo, provides an Asian influence to the menu, while multi-talented Denis Berardo, who wrote the menu and acts as sommelier, lends European flair. Chef de cuisine Adam Fritz helms the kitchen and turns out dishes like sesame-crusted medallions of ahi with Asian vegetables, and citrus, ponzu and wasabi sauce. Another starter is the tiger shrimp and sea scallops, sautéed in a white wine sauce. For entrées, the special halibut with ginger glaze and carrot purée is a winner. But there's more than just seafood: Cognac-flamed filet mignon has a nice crispy char and comes with rich scalloped potatoes. For dessert, there's fluffy chocolate mousse or a tart Tatin with big chunks of Granny Smith apple and caramel sauce.
