Pallino Pastaria Restaurant Review: Speed meets quality at Pallino Pastaria, where the Italian dishes are ready in minutes. Located in University Village, a sizable shopping center on the northwest side of Lake Washington, this upscale cafeteria-style bistro offers an affordable Italian option. The trick to the speedy meals is a Swiss-made machine that portions, cooks and drains a serving of pasta in 90 seconds. Choose your favorite style of noodle, and then select from numerous sauces, such as those made with Fontina, Parmesan or Gorgonzola cheeses; a garlicky white wine cream sauce with bacon and peas; or a classic puttanesca with olives, capers, hot peppers, tomatoes, anchovies and garlic. Add a salad to complement your pasta dish, or go the soup-and-panino route. Breakfast features a scrambled egg panino. To round out the experience, good Italian-style coffee and a friendly staff are a plus. |
