Though tablecloths are employed at The Palm, they do little to quench the rough and tumble masculine air. The waitstaff is all business---they want you to eat sirloin and lobster and the half-and-half, an addictive side-order of fried onions and cottage fried potatoes---but they'll humor you if you want to try lamb chops, pork chops or the occasional chicken dish. Broiled lobsters can be dry; boiled, they are a moist, fresh sea feast and steaks are always thick and juicy. For dessert (if you have room), the cheesecake has just the right creamy texture and the chocolate mousse cake is sinfully rich. There is a full bar and a notable wine list.
