Palomino Restaurant Review: Bustling Palomino, in the beautiful brick Hills Brothers Plaza, affords diners a fantastic view of the Bay Bridge. The straightforward California menu revolves around the wood-burning oven: cracker-thin pizza crusts, spit-roasted chicken, and cedar-planked salmon with a smoky flavor. Even the apple tart gets a turn in the wood oven and comes out with a bronze glaze; it's topped with a drizzle of caramel sauce. A long list of pastas and salads is clearly created with the idea of satisfying a wide variety of palates. The food may be a bit uneven, but this is a fun place, great for groups and out of town guests who will remember the view above all else. |
