THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pam's Place Restaurant Review:

Thai native Pam Klingliang was practically raised in her mother’s Phetchaburi restaurant, so it’s no surprise she’s producing authentic Thai cuisine in Venice. There’s an outdoor patio, but the real action is indoors, with the piped-in Thai pop music and murals depicting elephants and waterfalls. Klingliang promises “every dish prepared with love,” so it’s only fitting that a pink heart dangles from the ceiling. The varied menu is highlighted by spicy rice noodles, which are caramelized, tossed with ground beef, bell peppers and basil. The grilled pork spare ribs are less successful, chewy nubs slathered with overly sweet sauce. A lighter option combines tender strips of grilled eggplant, ground chicken, firm shrimp and a piquant lime-chile-garlic sauce. Seafood dishes include steamed mussels in lemon grass and coconut milk broth and a whole deep-fried pompano. There’s even a massive section of vegetarian specialties, many incorporating tofu. To drink, expect classic Thai iced tea or a “twisted” version spiked with rum. Whatever you order, save room for the young coconut filled with steamed coconut custard.
