Panera Bread Restaurant Review: Panera on Park Avenue breathes life into the street’s quiet north end. Regulars have their laptops on tables every morning, sipping a fresh-brewed cup of java, from espressos to lattes to cappuccinos. The bakery counter tempts with treats from toffee-nut cookies, chocolate chip muffins and croissants. A selection of savory breakfast sandwiches is also available (including our favorite---egg, white cheddar and ham on a jalapeño-cheddar bagel). For lunch or a quick dinner, the best bet is the signature sandwiches, served on fresh bread. There are three to four soups (think French onion, baked potato and creamy tomato) on the menu that change each day, while the crowd favorite, broccoli cheddar, stays put. We like the salads, including the Greek, Caesar and Asian chicken.
