Papa Bill's Saloon Restaurant Review:

This is not the most refined place in Mexico City---it may be telling that the menu’s first two laminated pages are about the liquor selection---but that doesn’t keep the place from being packed almost every afternoon and evening, and for the food, too. What’s the attraction? It might well be the package deals that include a kilo of meat (arrachera steak, pork carnitas, chicken fajitas, even Buffalo chicken wings or barbecue ribs), a mess of sides, and either a full bottle of liquor or 24---count ’em 24---bottles of beer, artfully arrayed on a tableside bar. The option is in fact a great way to keep the bill low on six or eight (or ten) hungry office or travel companions. We can’t say that Papa Bill’s saloon grub is exactly haute cuisine, but it does keep everyone steady as successive (jumbo-size) tequilas, beer bongs and cocktails turbo-charge the non-stop fiesta feel. Have another goofy drink and pig out---you can eat fancy somewhere else another night.
