Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen Restaurant Review:

Approach this chain establishment and the sound system draws you in with rhythmic Cajun music. Specializing in Cajun-accented seafood dishes, the menu offers some standards: po' boy sandwiches, tender Cajun deep-fried alligator tail, and filling and creamy crawfish bisque. Oysters Pappadeaux, a house creation, presents a half dozen lightly baked oysters with crab meat, spinach and hollandaise sauce --- Pappadeaux's take on Rockefeller style. Deep-fried crawfish tails with red beans and rice comes in two sizes, and the smaller one will still leave you taking some home. The real meal deal for two is the Pappadeaux Platter, a heap of fried seafood with extra shrimp, catfish and crawfish. Other Cajun touches extend to boudin, bread pudding and sweet potato-pecan pie, but you also can get a whole Maine lobster, grilled seafood, steak, chicken and soft-shell crabs. Low country shrimp and grits is offered as well. Decent, well-priced wines are offered, but look out for hefty prices on cocktails. Also located at 5635 Jimmy Carter Blvd., at I-85 (exit 99), Norcross, 770-849-0600; and 10795 Davis Dr., off Mansell Rd., Alpharetta, 770-992-5566.
