The main event here---and well worth a trip---is the signature bulbous bun, with its slightly crispy mocha-flavored coating that gives way to a soft, ever-so-slightly sweet center with a pat of butter hidden deep inside. Warm from the oven, these are such outstanding coffee companions you’ll be tempted to give up your daily croissant or donut, and PappaRich is a pleasant place to enjoy a cup. Oddly enough, they serve a standout clam chowder here, too. The café, in the heart of Old Pasadena, has a rustic-chic ambience, with plenty of outdoor seating from which to people-watch. PappaRich is a big chain in Korea, but this Pasadena edition is the first in the States.
