The Art Deco ambience of the Pappas family's most upscale operation leans toward masculine features, with dark woods and leather seating. But women also bask in the flattering soft lighting and etched-glass accents that have certain mood-enhancing capabilities. (Still, they may want to steer clear of the cigar room, if sensitive to the smell.) Only dry-aged Prime meats are offered here, and they're cooked to perfection. Hearty carnivores will enjoy the 16-ounce New York strip; but the elegant filet mignon, the veal chop and the salmon are also splendid. Decadent sides, such as creamed spinach, crisp wedge salad with blue cheese dressing, or sautéed fresh asparagus round out the meal. Don’t overlook the less expensive bar menu entrées, which even come with the restaurant's famous mashed potatoes, creamed skins-on with chives. Perfect for petite appetites, the six-ounce filet mignon is priced justly for Prime meat. Or maybe just sample from the decidedly retro appetizer menu of shrimp cocktail, bacon-wrapped scallops and turtle gumbo. A real treat awaits those who can afford the market-priced beluga caviar.
