The Art Deco ambience of the Pappas family's most upscale operation leans toward masculine features, with dark woods and leather seating. But women also bask in the flattering soft lighting and etched-glass accents that have certain mood-enhancing capabilities. Only dry-aged Prime meats are offered here. Carnivores will enjoy the 16-ounce New York strip, but we also recommend the elegant filet mignon, the veal chop and the salmon. Decadent sides, such as creamed spinach, a crisp wedge salad with blue cheese dressing or sautéed fresh asparagus round out the meal. Don’t overlook the less expensive bar menu entrées, which even come with the restaurant's famous mashed potatoes, creamed skins-on with chives. For petite appetites, there’s a six-ounce filet mignon, or just sample from the decidedly retro appetizer menu of shrimp cocktail, bacon-wrapped scallops or turtle gumbo. A real treat awaits those who can afford the market-priced beluga caviar.
