Locals frequent this stylish bistro to enjoy Asian-inspired tapas such as lemongrass-steamed mussels, eggplant sautéed in garlic and ginger, or a charcuterie platter that includes a house-made, smooth-as-silk liver pâté. Still hungry? Try the grilled quail served on a bed of mashed potatoes and wilted watercress or sesame-braised port riblets paired with hard-boiled quail eggs in a caramelized onion sauce. Drinks? There’s a smallish but nicely varied wine list. Or try a green tea vodka martini, a kaffir lime-infused saké or soju flavored with lychee and star fruit---specialties of the house. The wood floors and exposed brick walls reflect a lot of sound so, when this small restaurant fills up and the DJ starts the place rocking, it can become too loud for conversation. On summer evenings, the patio with its wicker chairs and red umbrellas is a cool and quiet escape. At lunch, a sign says “Open Pho Lunch,” and the fragrant soup brimming with beef and noodles is worth a visit.
