The restaurant may have moved to larger premises next door and added a huge mural on one wall of a typical Parisian scene, but the Gallic atmosphere and food remain pretty much the same. It’s a cheerful place, much loved by regulars who still comprise medical staff from the nearby Whittington Hospital and Highgate residents on a cheap night out, all enjoying the very French bistro fare, which presumably reminds them of French holidays. Here you’ll find all the frogs’ legs, well garlicked snails and monkfish with green peppercorn sauce you could ever want. Don’t expect top cooking; do expect friendly service and a respite from the surrounding fast food shops. A 3-course set meal is £9.95, or indulge in 5 courses for £17.95.
