It seems that Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone can do no wrong. The two chefs hit the big time when they opened Torrisi Italian Specialties on Mulberry Street in NoLIta, luring back locals to the tourist-crammed street for the first time in decades. Their Parm is next door to that establishment and essentially expands on what it serves at lunch. The classics are still available: the delightful chicken Parm and the take-no-prisoners eggplant Parm. But the additions are also worth trying, such as the calamari, lightly breaded in panko and tantalizingly spicy. The Saratoga Club is stacked high and loaded with texture, some of it from layers of potato chips. Every evening marks a new special, including “Italian Thanksgiving” on Thursdays and “Chinese” on Sundays. Wine is surprisingly expensive and the beer on offer is mostly of the craft variety.
