Pasquale Ristorante Restaurant Review

: Dark red wood, white tablecloths and well-spaced seating along with cream-colored walls, little wrought iron wall sconces and high-tiered curtained windows define Pasquale’s comfortable, airy dining room. The menu of reliable Italian classics offers two options: order individual dishes or opt for family style. Skip the calamari fritti and go for the tender stuffed artichoke and the home-style pasta and lentil soup. Farfalle al salmone (salmon, shrimp and peas in a creamy tomato sauce) and the penne alla nonna (chicken, shrimps and sun-dried tomatoes in a light tomato sauce) serve equally well as a main course or to share in place of an appetizer. Other mains worthy of attention include the filetto di sogliola marechiara, a flaky filet of sole sautéed with mussels and clams in marinara sauce. The wine list, featuring Californian, Spanish and Italian sparkling, reds and whites, complements the food. Desserts are conventional --- good enough to satisfy a sweet craving.
