Pasquale’s is an Italian restaurant with a few modifications from its owners, who are successful Indian restaurateurs. You can taste the difference in a few dishes where spices usually hot by Italian standards---i.e. chicken fra diavolo, and spicy bread sticks---are incendiary, but otherwise the cooking is traditional. The kitchen delivers decent renditions of all the favorites: eggplant Parmigiana, shrimp scampi over linguine, spinach and cheese ravioli. The chef takes an inventive but not always successful twist with some of the pasta sauces, which come in flavors such as pesto cream and wild mushroom and brandy cream. There are a few unusual dishes, as well, like salmon saltimbocca. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere upscale. For dessert, don’t miss the Perugina chocolate mousse topped with crushed hazelnuts.
