Restaurant Review: The Pasta House Co. has outposts in Missouri, southern Illinois and Kentucky, including this one in one of St. Louis’ most eclectic suburbs. The décor is bright, clean and very Italian. The crowds of multi-generational families, friends having dinner and office birthday parties dine on standard Italian dishes like pasta con broccoli and manicotti. Deviations from the traditional include Nonna Tucci’s Meatballs Parmigiano, noteworthy for being topped with the local love-it-or-hate-it cheese, Provel. Toasted ravioli and cheesy garlic bread top the appetizer list. The Pasta House's Special Salad is a deliberately overdressed romaine salad. The menu’s standard pastas or hunks of protein topped with sauce and cheese are often accompanied by a bottomless bowl of that salad. Service is above average for a chain.
