 Patroon Restaurant Review: Patroon manages to feel big and manly, due to the oversize martinis and upstairs cigar bar, while proudly displaying its feminine side with plush booths and an eclectic menu that gives meat prime coverage without focusing on it exclusively. Still, in the rather sedate dining room (which is more popular at lunch) you're likely to see power brokers discussing mega-mergers while savoring the buttery foie gras terrine and other hearty dishes that may compel extra minutes on the treadmill the next morning. Patroon's menu has continually become more sophisticated with the addition of such specialties as the Patroon lobster pot with Maine lobster, wild mushrooms, Calvados and tarragon cream; and the halibut porterhouse with fennel marmalade and green peppercorn vinaigrette. The wine list is formidable and, like the food here, pricey. |
