Purists might call this a glorified Greek restaurant, but when you see the colorfully clad shoppers on the market side, you'll agree it is much more. The best dishes here are the tabbouleh salad, creamy hummus, stuffed grape leaves and the meaty, straightforward kebabs served with mountains of basmati rice. An especially fine spanakopita---spinach pie---is accompanied by Mediterranean vegetables and vermicelli pilaf. The kitchen also turns out lamb gyros with tzatziki sauce and baklava with walnuts and pistachios for dessert. We also like the Greek rice pudding. Reservations are accepted for dinner. Top off your evening with a visit to the Moroccan-style Hookah Lounge offering authentic Mediterranean culture, flavored tobaccos and teas.
