THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Peacock Grand Cafe Restaurant Review:
The Farivar brothers, of Georgetown’s Peacock Café, have turned their casual eatery theme into something grander. That isn’t to say this place is stuffy; indeed, you’ll find much the same basic American fare as you’ll see in their first restaurant, but here the kitchen puts a more polished spin on the menu. Burgers morph from all-beef to an Angus beef goodie topped with smoked mozzarella. And for folks eschewing beef, the kitchen offers both a turkey burger with a side of guacamole and fries and a more elegant tuna burger dressed in a Key lime aïoli. Interesting main-course salads are generously portioned while other entrées range from grilled monkfish with a lobster sauce to a lump crab and pesto risotto. From lobster deviled eggs with trout and sturgeon caviar to the thin-crust brick-oven pizzas (how does a porcini pie with truffle oil sound?), the PGC is a welcome find in the K St. corridor.
